Brooklyn Taco

Today I ventured to the LES (Lower East Side) for a street market/festival just to get myself a Brooklyn Taco that I have heard so much about. Of course the day started bright and sunny so all I had was a summer dress, spare cash, a self inflicted headache, a grumbling stomach and a dream.

So I got to the street festival walked up and down a few times ogling the delicious vintage pieces thanking god I only brought $10 so I didn't splurge and I could not find the Brooklyn Taco stand, then it started to sprinkle and then it started to pour so I found shelter whilst attempting to make google maps work through random wifi hotspots. I found the actual store was only couple of block away in the Essex Street Market (between Rivington st and Delancey)

Needless to say I would do it all again, these bad boys were totally worth it!

I had the Chorizo Y Potato consisting of pan fried chorizo and potato with lettuce, fruit salsa (pineapple  & fresh herbs), crema and a New Orleans iced coffee (chicory spice makes it Norleans style)

I was beyond satisfied!!! This place is totally worth a visit for all taco enthusiasts.

Sunshine and popsicles

After waking up with a slight headache Susha and I decided to go to the movies as it was a bit of a grey day but first a pit stop!

261 Moore Street Brooklyn
(near the L train)

Famous Original - Tomato, mozzarella, caciocavallo, parmigiano, oregano & chilli flakes
Sailors cocktail (in keeping with the theme of fleet week)

As we left the weather changed to beautifully sunny, good old NY the weather will always keep you guessing we still went to the movies but then we met up with my cousin Zoe near Union Square.

As we were walking we stopped for a refreshing popsicle.
People's Pops using local grown fruits and herbs they create delicious hand made popsicles and shaved ice treats!

Well look at the time, it's happy hour first stop Yuca for Margaritas, Mojitos, Caipirinha's and some nibbles

Next stop Southern Comfort (I could not find a website)
We enjoyed Jalepeno margaritas and a delicious cherry, grapefruit & coconut rum I think it was called Janine's favourite but now we will call it JBomb's favourite.
