After a rave review of my tour guide ability I was referred by a friend to another traveller who loves food as much as me!
So first stop the The Meatball Shop on the corner of Allen St & Stanton, Lower East Side.
It's pretty self explanatory meat balls are their deal and they do them really well.
The sunlight and flower reminded me of home.
The menu is innovative, you use a black marker to select which meatball, sauce, cheese, sides, which way you want it served - slider, heroe, smash or everything but the kitchen sink.
I love the communal dining, bumping elbows with a stranger whilst having a foodgasm its the way dining should be it also gives a great homely feel.
Maeva, sliders and a heroe
I ordered pork balls & spicy sauce heroe and a buffalo chicken & blue cheese slider
Divine! melt in your mouth, beautiful soft bread and I loved the arugula (rocket) with shaves of apple and a light citrus excellent complement.
The next amazing part about the simple and awesome restaurant you can make your own ice cream sandwich!
I'm talking you can pick a different cookie for the top and the bottom and the ice cream flavour its just ingenious in my eyes.
Ginger snap cookie
Vanilla ice cream
Brownie cookie
You can buy a recipe book and they also give you a sample recipe when you pay.
Before heading out we needed to stop by the liquor store.
So we're wandering through times square near Broadway and a show was letting out and people were queuing at the backdoor so we checked it out and who should come out but Alan Rickman aka Snape.
Contrary to the pictures Alan was exactly like Snape when I asked to take a picture he replied in that drawn out tone "Quiiickly" it was awesome! I pretty much felt like Harry himself.
and Jerry O'Connell was a doll as expected he was asking where we're from, offering each of us a photo, I've loved him since Sliders and I will continue to love him.
McGee's is the pub that How I Met Your Mother based McLaren's on.
You can also watch HIMYM there every Monday.
Legit cop car.
Aussie reference: So Hamish & Andy basically destroyed a current mode of transportation for NY police officers hahaha.
To conclude our evening we went to a random bar on the Lower East Side where an extremely drunk Italian man kept asking if we wanted to go for a walk until he was kicked out for being too drunk and as an apology we got a free glass of wine from our waiter, winning!
Hope you enjoyed the mayhem as much as I did Maeva.
